Dear AVBHA Community,

In the wake of the tragic events this weekend, we extend our deepest condolences to the families of Burnsville Police Officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, as well as firefighter-paramedic Adam Finseth. These brave individuals made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a domestic disturbance, embodying the true essence of heroism.

To honor their memory and show our unwavering support, all AVBHA games this week will commence with a moment of silence. Additionally, we've procured memorial helmet stickers in tribute to the Burnsville Police and Fire Departments.

For those willing to contribute further, we are in the process of compiling donation information to aid the families affected by this tragedy. More information below...

Let's come together as a community to remember, reflect, and support one another during these challenging times.

HONORING OUR FALLEN HEROES

Our hearts ache for the tragic loss of Burnsville Police Officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, along with firefighter-paramedic Adam Finseth, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a domestic disturbance. We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Sgt. Adam Medlicott, who was injured but is now recovering at home.

These brave individuals embodied heroism and community service. Officer Elmstrand's dedication, Officer Ruge's kindness, and Firefighter-Paramedic Finseth's selflessness will forever be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Medlicott for a swift recovery.

In solidarity with the Burnsville community, AVBHA will be posting any verified contribution sites, and will let you know of them as soon as we do. The city of Burnsville has already verified two sites for direct monetary and non-monetary contributions - see their message below:

FROM THE CITY OF BURNSVILLE:
Supporting the Families of Our Fallen Heroes

The outpouring support and contributions for the families of Officer Paul Elmstrand, Officer Matthew Ruge and Firefighter/ Paramedic Adam Finseth is deeply appreciated. If you would like to offer support to the families of our fallen heroes in the coming days, please direct monetary contributions to Law Enforcement Labor Services. This site is coordinated by Law Enforcement Labor Services and contributions will be delivered directly to the families.

This is the only contribution site we have verified on behalf of the families. Please be aware of scam fundraisers seeking to exploit this tragedy.

For those who would like to make a non-monetary contribution as a show of support, you may bring contributions to Prince of Peace Church, 13801 Fairview Dr. Burnsville, MN 55337. More information is available at Prince of Peace’s Mission Outpost donation center
