As we wrap up another thrilling hockey season, we want to extend a massive congratulations to all our teams for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding performances throughout the year. From exhilarating wins to hard-fought battles, each team showcased incredible talent and determination on the ice.
Special shoutouts to our standout teams and their remarkable accomplishments:
The 10U B1 Valkyries soared to victory as District 8 champions, showcasing their skill and teamwork with an unforgettable performance.
Congratulations to the 12B2 Valkyries for securing the D8 Consolation Championship, demonstrating resilience and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Our Bantam A Eagles clinched the D8 Championship on February 24th after a season of fierce competition. Although they fought valiantly at regions, their journey ended in the last round, but their dedication and tenacity were truly inspiring.
The 15A Valkyries demonstrated their prowess by securing the title of D8 runners-up and continued their impressive journey with a strong showing at the regional level. Though they didn’t bring home the state trophy, their incredible journey was a testament to their resilience and dedication.
To all our teams, whether you clinched a championship or gave it your all, we are incredibly proud of your efforts and achievements. Thank you for representing AVB with passion and sportsmanship all season long!
A special thank you to our dedicated coaches and supportive parents – we couldn't do it without your unwavering commitment and encouragement. Your guidance and support have played an integral role in the success of our teams, and we are truly grateful for all that you do!

The Valkyries clinched the gold in an electrifying game that went into double overtime! Facing a nail-biting 5-on-3 situation, Paige Jenstad's quick thinking and precise puck handling kept the pressure at bay. With Brooke Hindal standing strong as a brick wall in goal, shutting out the opposition for an impressive 14 minutes of overtime play, the Valkyries showed unwavering resilience. And then, with just 41.9 seconds left in the second overtime, Kenleigh Clardy soared to victory with the game-winning goal! It was an incredible display of teamwork and determination, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. Congratulations to our unstoppable Valkyries for their thrilling win!
But the excitement didn't end there! Rumor has it that one brave coach fulfilled a promise by letting the girls shave his head in jubilant victory. Talk about dedication!

What an action-packed weekend it's been for AVB! We kicked off the excitement with our 10UB1 team hosting a thrilling tournament last week, culminating in a heart-stopping championship game on Sunday night. Our Valkyries emerged victorious, proudly taking home the championship trophy!
But the excitement didn't stop there! On Saturday, we hosted the South of the River Showdown Jamboree, which was a resounding success. With 14 teams and over 200 kids participating, the event was a blast, featuring speedy stickhandling, lightning-fast shots, floor hockey, and of course, plenty of pizza!
Sunday brought even more fun with our Mite Fun Day. From coach vs. player scrimmages to games galore, the day was filled with laughter and excitement. Every participant went home with medals, t-shirts, and memories to cherish. It was a fantastic way to wrap up an unforgettable season of hockey fun!
A big thank you to all the volunteers, parents, and coaches whose support and dedication made these events possible! Your commitment to our players and the AVB community is truly appreciated.
