Leila and her Valkyrie crew nailed it! Huge congrats to our very own Eagle, Leila Korkowski, and her awesome teammates Adalyn Farrington, Beth Bigalke, Jaden Ruzzi, Josie Walczak, and Lilly Selander for dominating the 14U USA Hockey Tier II National Championship with their Minnesota Moose squad. Winning all 6 games and only allowing 2 goals throughout the tournament is seriously impressive! Special kudos to Beth Bigalke for pulling off 5 shutouts! Way to work, CHAMPS!

AVB Hockey is offering multiple post-secondary education scholarships to this year's senior class at AVHS and BHS. The board of directors have approved a scholarship fund and appointed a scholarship committee. The intention is to grant scholarships to as many former players as possible.
Scholarship Eligibility, Requirements, and Guidelines
Applicants must be a senior in good standing at Apple Valley High School or Burnsville High School.
Applicants must have been an active member of AVHA, BHC, or AVBHA and been a traveling player with sanctioned teams (Eagles, Valkyries, or Firehawks) for at least two seasons. Applicants do not have to be active at the time of application.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2.7 cumulative high school GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
Applicants must submit a transcript stating GPA with his/her application. Transcripts must indicate cumulative grade point average.
Applicants must submit an application form to the scholarship committee by the deadline of May 31, 2024.
The scholarship committee will determine scholarship recipients and amounts awarded.
The award is intended to be used during the traditional academic year (fall through spring), and for academic purposes such as tuition, fees, room, board, and/or books.
Awards will be one-time payments made payable to the educational institute. Scholarships are forfeited if not used by March 31 of the following year (for example, 2024 winners must submit for payment by Mar 31, 2025).
Decisions of the AVB Hockey scholarship committee are final.
